MAC Address Lookup
Identify the manufacturer, device type, and registration details from any MAC address. Uses the IEEE OUI database for accurate hardware vendor identification and security analysis.
MAC Address Lookup - Hardware Vendor Identification
A MAC (Media Access Control) address is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications on the physical network segment. The first three octets (24 bits) of a MAC address form the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI), which is assigned by the IEEE to device manufacturers. Our MAC Address Lookup tool queries the IEEE OUI database to identify the manufacturer of any network device from its MAC address. This information is invaluable for network forensics, helping to identify the types of devices connected to a network, detect unauthorized hardware, and trace the origin of network traffic. The tool supports all common MAC address formats including colon-separated (AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF), hyphen-separated (AA-BB-CC-DD-EE-FF), and plain (AABBCCDDEEFF). Our security analysis module also detects locally administered addresses (which may indicate MAC spoofing), multicast addresses, and known surveillance device manufacturers, providing actionable intelligence for network security assessments.
